Best Wedding Planning Advice???........ Well, there could be a list..... But I'll leave it at two key points.
1. A Wedding Notebook - There is a long list of things to do and many appointments to keep when planning a wedding. It really helps to be organized. I found that keeping a binder of all my wedding stuff was essential. From my receipts and flower ideas to vendor contracts and the schedule of the big day, it was all at my fingertips. Your wedding party will appreciate knowing ahead of time where to be and when and having it all in one place was a huge time saver.
2. Set stuff aside early - When the week of the wedding finally arrives, even the most relaxed couple will be pulled in every direction. It helps to have things in piles/boxes. Set aside an area in the house and just start stacking. A box for the "Rehearsal", "Ceremony Site", "Reception", "Honeymoon", etc... really helps. You can have your cake topper, unity candle, guest book, and everything right where you need it when it's time to head out for the big day. And it really comes in handy when you start delegating tasks to other people!!
Well.... happy wedding planning!!!

(10.31.08 @ 12:40 AM)Our best advice to couples planning a wedding, cliche though it may be, is to relax and enjoy your day. When it finally happens, it seems to pass by in a blurred whirlwind of activity and fun, so savor every moment! Remember, if everything does not turn out precisely the way you envisioned it, you are the only ones who know... Also, on the business side of things, take your time in selecting those all-important vendors- be sure to interview at least two or three, and choose to work with people with whom you feel completely at ease.
(10.31.08 @ 08:31 AM)The best advise I can give is to take time out of the crazy planning and have a date night, a time or two, and work on your relationship instead of just working on the wedding plans!!! A marriage is much more than just the wedding day. It extends far beyond that!!
(10.31.08 @ 07:36 PM)Remember to never let money get in the way of happiness. It's really easy to let money woes place a black cloud over wedding planning and arguements are likely to arise. But always keep in mind that as important as a wedding is, it's the actual marriage that really matters. So, when you start feeling like you have some anger and frustration brewing from how much the favors will cost, how much the honeymoon will be, and how much money each plate at the reception will set you back... take a deep breath, look at your loving husband or wife-to-be and remember what this is really all about. LOVE not money.
(11.01.08 @ 12:00 PM)Best wedding planning advice? Hire a wedding planner!
(11.01.08 @ 02:15 PM)The best wedding advice would definitely be... The day is so busy you cannot possibly remember all the special and tender moments (along with some hilarious ones too!) So I would say 1- having a dynamic photographer (or 2 which is even better... u get the hint!) to capture all the moments of this insanely wonderful day! 2- having a wedding planner to coordinate everything on your big day makes a huge difference... its worth the money for sure!
(11.01.08 @ 09:07 PM)The best wedding advice we received was to take time to enjoy the moment. Plan early and keep organized but when it comes down to the day or two before your wedding, delegate, delegate, delegate!! Just remember, you can’t prepare for everything and little hiccups will occur but stay focused on the big picture—this is the first day of the rest of your life!! Have fun, take some time to breathe, and do everything you can to remember this moment, Paul Rich will take care of the rest!
(11.03.08 @ 12:13 PM)Talk to your partner and find out what the 2-3 things about the wedding are the most important to you. Weather that is photos, music, location or a wedding planner. Then you and your partner can plan those and whatever else is on the list you can always give to someone else to deal with and then they feel involved. That way it takes some of the stress off of you. When it comes to the day of just take a deep breath and enjoy everything.
(11.03.08 @ 04:35 PM)The best wedding planning advice I have is dont plan this day for your quests, remember this day is all about you and your spouse and should be something you enjoy to the fullest! Dont worry about making sure you have all of the traditional wedding jumbo (bouquet toss, garter toss, typical cake cutting, etc.), Make it different and something totally you guys! Take it slow and try not stress about the Little things. and if you can, do the obvious and hire a wedding planner to make the day even more easier on you both.
Cheers!
