About Paul Rich Studio Paul Rich has a natural gift for capturing real moments. Known for his ability to put his subjects at ease, he uses an artist's sense of composition with a technician's knowledge of light. Paul has a talent for quietly capturing the lovely tender vignettes that will evoke the feeling of your event for years to come.

Paul pursued wedding photography at the ripe old age of 13. He began working as a photographer's assistant and photographed his first wedding by the time he turned 18. While earning his degree in photography at Bard College in New York, Paul had the opportunity to study with such notable photographers as Stephen Shore and Larry Fink.

We have just received notification from the [AG]WPJA that we placed 7th place overall in the recent Q2 2009 international photo contest in the category of "Kids (Being Kids)."

The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA is a group of international wedding photojournalists, who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, and excel in the art of post-production image processing. The [AG]WPJA is a division within the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA); one which specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism.

We are absolutely thrilled to have received this recognition and strongly encourage you to check out the incredible talent that is exhibited throughout this talented group of professionals.  To view the winners of the Q2 2009 contest, click HERE.

Here is the award winning image.  It was captured at a recent destination wedding in St Lucia.  The young boy was exhausted from all of the hard work of being such an exceptional ring bearer.

Here are the judge's comments:  A classic moment well done. Nice light and good composition.

Amanda:

I just checked out your website and had to write to tell you that your photographs are amazing. I wish I had you for my wedding! Every since I got my pictures back from my own wedding I have been disappointed because there was no art to it. It felt very ordinary. Congrats on the award.
