About Paul Rich Studio features a dynamic husband and wife team who transcend traditional wedding photography through the use of their creative talents as trained artists.
There is so much to rave about Janet and Ethan's wedding -- I have been anxiously waiting to release their sneak peek of images.  First of all, the wedding was at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, New York (just 30 miles north of New York City).  For those who are not familiar with the restaurant, here is a brief description from their website:

"Sourcing from the surrounding fields and pasture, as well as other local farms, Blue Hill at Stone Barns highlights the abundant resources of the Hudson Valley. There are no menus at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Instead, guests are presented with a list of over a hundred ingredients, updated daily, which contains the best offerings from the field and market."

The executive chef and co-owner, Dan Barber, is world renowned.  He was recently listed among Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People and also received the 2009 National James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef of the Year.  Let's just say that dinner was the most amazing culinary experience ever.  Menus were placed at each table setting and read as follows:

Greenhouse Greens and Herbs - with this morning's farm egg
Asparagus Soup - american sturgeon caviar, mushrooms
Alaskan Halibut - pistou of spring vegetables
Loin of Lamb - quinoa, cracked wheat, spring parsnips
Wedding Cake

Just prior to the meal, I walked around the grounds to capture some late day shots of the exterior and surrounding grounds.  I came upon a chef who was out in the garden picking herbs and asked what he was doing.  The chef mentioned that he was preparing Asparagus Soup for the wedding going on inside.  I couldn't believe it!  The amount of respect and reverence for food and food preparation at Blue Hill at Stone Barns is absolutely unparalleled.

The restaurant is something that absolutely must be experienced.  Holly and I are honored to have been chosen to photograph Janet and Ethan's wedding and we are very proud and excited to share some recent photos.  It should also be noted that I was given an incredibly rare opportunity to go into the back kitchen to document the food dishes just prior to being served.  I was assigned to a specific wait person who made it clear that I was to photograph the food dish and nothing else.  No other pictures were allowed to be taken.
